Terrible radar.

Always had this app as my go to. I’m noticing a lot of strangeness of late. I keep 3-4 locations saved. No matter which one I check, the current conditions are always the same. Incorrect most of the time. No way these locations are experiencing the identical same conditions. Had to add the Weather Channel app and have Apple’s weather app as well. They are spot on and very closely agree. WRAL’s are mostly off. One would think that with the amount of money they spend on their team and equipment, they could have an app that works.

I had been using the app for several years even after moving out of the triangle area. Then the dreaded up a year ago. Saw that you all said you were going to fix it, but never saw the fox so I quit. Just now decided to try again to see if it was better. Nope. I control radar is still screwed up. Can’t set the radar into motion. Very important aspect to me. Deleting the app again. Why don’t big companies ever learn. If it ain’t broke, don’t “fix” it !!!

I’m so disappointed by WRAL’s app and website. Any time I try to watch the weather forecast the video either won’t play with sound, or the video never loads. I deleted the app and will be downloading abc11 instead. Ya lost me!

Am I the only one suffering from a frozen app. I have to delete it and reinstall it to get it to work again. It does this every couple of weeks. I also don’t get notifications anymore and yes I have made sure the app is allowed to send notifications. It won’t let me add a new location which is terrible because I work 26 miles from home so sometimes I really need to see what is going on in the work location. I know I can zoom to that area but it is just a pain

When I’m trying to look at the radar rarely can I get the player to show up at the bottom so I can see the progression. It’s so irritating. Once upon a time it worked every time I looked at the radar, but after an update it very rarely shows up.

The radar is great, it loads fast and is easy to use. The alerts never work. I’ve tried reinstalling the app and I will get 1 or 2 alerts and then they stop. Please fix this!!!!!!

Not happy I’ve had this app for several years and have been happy until a few weeks ago. I have several favorite locations saved where family and friends live, but lately when I view the weather at other locations, it displays my current location weather. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it’s still doing it. How can I fix this?

I finally deleted it because it would show the same temperature for every location and never vary or update.

What happened to the 7-day forecasts? Y’giving is the last week I can get. Help!

I have reviewed this app in the past and was told that this problem would be fixed in the next update. Nine months later and no update? The problem is that I have added a few locations in addition to my home location that I like to be able to check quickly. I used to be able to swipe through them but now they all say Current Location instead of the actual place name

Seems like this app hasn’t been updated since Greg Fishel left. Where’s the weather widget? Weather notifications are delayed sometimes. I resorted to using the stock Apple weather app. UPDATE 11/3/24: Now the widget does not update to show current temperature. Come on WRAL!

Fix the bugs on Home Screen already! It’s been 6 months. Cannot switch cities properly and radar history doesn’t load most of the time. I would get a new developer. I’ve made an app before and I’m sure the issues that continue can be easily fixed. The latest updates have actually broken the app significantly. Original post: Much better with the last update which no longer reloads the app every 5 min just to update your location. The 5 sec reload was driving me crazy. Because of that I downloaded about 6 other highly rated weather apps and tested them for a few weeks but they all had issues or were lacking info. WRAL Weather is actually the best I found. iControl Radar is awesome & covers the full continental US. Its 6 hr history is great to to track storms. Also like the Almanac and found lake levels under “Around the State” to check drought conditions.

This used to be my favorite weather app. Excellent radar and weather alerts. While the radar is still excellent, I can no longer depend upon this weather app. I no longer receive notifications for my selected weather alerts and have not done so for approximately a year. In addition, the timeline for the radar no longer works consistently.

I’ve had this app for years and recently increased the text size on my phone to make reading easier. Even though it’s not even near the largest size only about 20% of the numbers are visible for the current temp. Also, I’ve found that the radar does not have the option for animation all the time. The developer needs to fix these items because now I prefer WeatherBug so I can see the temperature. Can’t be that hard to fix each of these!

I’ve had this app for years and for at least the past year I get no notifications of any of my set alerts. No sound is played when there is an alert. I have to physically open the app to see any alerts listed. We’ve had several tornado warnings in the past year and no audible alerts. Just happened to be lucky enough to either have the news on or my security system alerts for tornado. My ring neighbor hood watch has been more reliable with alerting me for tornado warnings than this app. I have deleted and reinstalled and that did nothing. Regular updates for the app would probably help also.

As others have stated: no notifications (has never worked for me in 9 months of owning phone; was fine on Samsung for years before), radar timeline doesn’t appear half the time, names of multiple locations do not appear. Developer obviously doesn’t care. Now widget no longer updates after about a day. Rebooting phone doesn’t help. Have to uninstall app, reboot, and then reinstall. Might be related to iOS18. Only reason giving more than 1 star is icontrol radar with Doppler5000. Definitely best radar in the area.

I’ve updated, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, so no sound. 👎👎

I do not receive weather alerts on my iPhone. However, I still have a Samsung s22 and weather alerts work just fine. What’s up with Apple App?

This app used to be great and now it is terrible. The weather feed is just always blank, the multi day is not updated regularly, and now there is no sound when the video plays. Just a big frustration to use. It used to be great years ago. What happened to it?

Comments from one year ago and from my experience, this app is excessively slow to load and that is still true today in July 2024. It always acts as though it has just been installed when you start the app, even if it has not been that long since you used it last. Additionally, the radar consistently comes up without the time slider until you close the radar and reopen it. It has been like this now for months and is unforgivable. For these reasons, you might as well look somewhere else.

I used to love this weather app! When using iRadar, the function to press play to see the direction storms are moving has disappeared. I wrote in a few years ago when it broke, and received a quick response that it’s a bug in their software. Well it’s been a few years now and still not fixed. I have removed the app and reinstalled a few times. But hasn’t worked.

She’s been gone since March. It’s July.

This has been broken along with the alerts for years now. Super disappointing as this use to be my favorite weather app

Apparently locations from Raleigh to upstate NY to Fairbanks, AL all have the same temperature. Needs fixing, please.

App works nicely, best radar in my opinion for local area. However please fix the play button on the I control radar. It comes up sometimes then other times it does t. I am on iPhone 15 and have this issue, my experiences it as well

Never get notifications like I use to. I have it turned on in the notifications settings. I have tried removing app & adding back & going through the set up & location settings but still don’t receive notifications & can’t add it to the homepage as for quick reference. I still use the app for everything but it does have some hiccups in it.

This app used to be great - but several months ago the multiple stored location functionality stopped working (and I’ve seen that this bug has been reported repeatedly). There are also issues with the radar and tracking - I usually have to restart the app to get the tracking work. Extremely disappointing - these problems have existed for months now.

Used to you could save several favorite locations and toggle through them to see weather in different locations. A few months ago they broke the app and have not fixed it despite reporting the problem to them. Now when you toggle through the name of th location does not change— so there’s no way to know which location you are seeing unless you memorize order as it’ll still show the last location. This was a great app/ no more!

This version is awful and inaccurate. The same current temperature comes up for every city. Also, the opening picture of the weather people is unnecessary.

I have used this app for years and liked it. Recently it is not up to date, it gives previous days weather and data. It never did this before. I have to turn off the iPad and to restart it which I never had to do before. I did uninstall it and reinstall it and that did not help. In general I like the app but giving it low ratings for attention.

The tech support is terrible. I’ve emailed several times to tell them about issues with this app for months and nobody fixes the issues not do they respond. I travel a lot and it’s important to me to know what the weather is in many cities in NC. This app gives you the option to save several cities in a favorites list and you can then swipe left through these cities to see the weather, but not anymore. You can swipe left and the weather will change, but the city name doesn’t change and you have no idea what city you’re in. So you may try to open your favorite cities list and tap on the city you want to see. It will change cities but then the weather doesn’t change from the first city in the list. It stays on that first city. I’ve emailed a couple times about this over a period of months and nobody cares at WRAL. I guess I’m going to have to download WTVD 11 app because according to another disappointed reviewer Channel 11 app works great.

The app won’t let you swipe between locations anymore. The data doesn’t change when you do. It’s only your current location. Also, the icontrol radar rarely loads the time feature at the bottom so you can see the movement of storms. Just redownloaded it hoping for improvements and nothing changed. Push notifications and alerts don’t come through anymore either. For a channel that still advertises for us to download the weather app, they definitely haven’t made improvements so we’ll actually keep using it. Because right now, I’m going to download something else. This is ridiculous.

Over 50% of the time you go into the icontrol radar, the timeline doesn’t load.

Problems were reported over a month ago.

App used to work great. Bugs in recent releases. Haven’t been able to swipe to different cities for months. Unacceptable in a region known for its tech prowess.

Had to delete this app the temperature was never accurate several degrees off every day.Quit making excuses for the weather app fix it or shut it down if you don’t know how it fix it.

wish I’d never updated my iPad app recently. It worked perfectly in landscape before. Not a fan. Now looking at other weather apps daily.

The app doesn’t provide accurate data. I’ve deleted and reinstalled saved locations as recommended (why is that necessary for a competent app?), and the data does not update when the location is changed. Push notifications don’t work. The app is dead weight.

As of writing, the latest version of the app incorrectly displays the square weather widget. There’s a black border around the content that makes it look sharply squared rather than the normal soft sided square. Otherwise, works as expected!

After last update, half of the degree numbers at top upon opening are gone…due to the fact I use a larger font in my iPad settings. When I dial down font size, it becomes whole….at the expense of smaller font/hard to see. I have a screenshot of how it appears. Top half is gone w/font in a larger state. Updates w/out checking what it does to accessibility items is a pet peeve of mine. Update: I’ve noticed it’s the LOCATION BAR in the way, maybe allow to minimize location.

Your weather app. It not working correctly. When I place my iPad on it side( sideways) the weather information is about one inch about of weather prediction hourly. Before updating it work fine.

Temperature half cut off and “swiping” between cities does not update temperature. Application in its current state is nearly useless.

Most recent update ruined app. Temperature not displayed properly, changing cities does not update temperature, etc - very poor QA. Used for years but had to change to Accuweather.

Widget are not displaying in the full window after latest update. Please get your stuff together, this is pathetic

It’s been like this for months now… please fix the Feels Like so it shows the temp. With IOS, all I see is “Feels Like”, but no temperature.
